School Meals
At Cranbrook Primary School, we provide nutritious and well-balanced hot meals to all children and staff. The meals are cooked on site by ISS Caterhouse in partnership with London Borough of Redbridge and comply with School Food Standards set by the Government.

The school meal includes the following:
-
A choice between three main meals (halal/non halal, vegetarian and alternative)
-
Two vegetable sides
-
A dessert or choice from a selection of fresh fruit & organic yoghurts
-
Full & unlimited access to salad bar, organic crusty bread, organic milk & drinking water
-
All children in Key Stage 1 (Reception, Year 1 & Year 2) get free school meals under the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme. Parents receiving qualifying benefits should still register for Free School Meals (FSM), so your child can get extra funding for school.
Meals for children in Key Stage 2 (Year 3, 4, 5 & 6) cost £2 each day, or at no cost to those in receipt of free meal entitlement.
Payments for meals must be made in advance of the meals being taken. Payments should be made on a weekly, monthly or half-termly basis. We strongly recommend parents to make payments online, however cash/cheque (made payable to London Borough of Redbridge) payments sent in to school in a sealed envelope with child’s name, class, and the amount clearly marked, will be accepted.

t is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that their child’s dinner account is in credit. Parents can contact the school to request an updated account balance.
If your child has a specific dietary needs for a medical reason, ISS can provide them with a bespoke special diet menu. Please download and complete the Special Diet Referral Form here and hand it to the school office with the supporting medical evidence.
It is very important that parents continue to register for free school meals, even though your child is getting free meals, as this will mean that the school will receive extra Government funding to be used for the benefit of your child’s education. These funds enable the school to take on additional staff and invest in additional equipment, resources and activities for the benefit of all children.
